Applications are invited from unemployed youth interested in pursuing a career as an Artisan. Suitable candidates will have the opportunity to enrol at a recognized Training Centre to develop their skills over three years. Workplace training will take place at our Timbadola sawmill near Louis Trichardt (Makhado).

Apprenticeship programme consists of the following artisan trades:

  1.  Fitter& Turner
  2.  Millwright
  3.  Electrical
  4.  Diesel Mechanic(Motor trade)
  5.  BoilerMaking

Learners will receive a monthly stipend throughout the apprenticeship. In the final selection process, preference will be given to Previously Disadvantaged Individuals, people with disabilities, females, and youth from communities adjacent to our plantations and those with which we have signed social compacts.

Upon successful completion of the occupational knowledge, practical, and workplace training, the Skills Development Act mandates that apprentices undergo a final summative assessment (Trade Test) to become certified as qualified artisans.

REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Must be a South African citizen
  •  Must be an unemployed youth aged between 18 and 35
  •  Must have completed Grade 12 (not mandatory but recommended)
  •  Must hold a minimum of an N2 or Level 3 Technical Vocational Education & Training (TVET) certificate in the relevant trade theory
