Job Description: Responsibilities, Qualifications, and Necessary Skills


Are you a tech-savvy individual who enjoys the challenge of tackling hardware and software issues? Well, we have just the role for you! As a Desktop Support Engineer Intern, you will handle installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting to keep our desktop systems optimized.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup & Configuration: Kickstart users’ tech experiences by setting up and configuring desktop computers and peripherals.
  • User Support: Be the go-to person for tech troubles—provide friendly, reliable support via phone, email, or face-to-face.
  • Troubleshooting: Channel your inner detective to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, from operating systems to applications.
  • Software Management: Help install and update software, ensuring everything runs like a dream.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside our awesome IT team on exciting projects and share your tech wisdom.
  • Equipment Management: Keep track of IT gear and support all things printer-related.
  • Security Champion: Tackle anti-virus challenges head-on and help keep our systems safe and secure.

Requirements:

  • Matric + 3-Year Diploma/Degree in IT from a public tertiary institution
  • A+ or N+ certifications are required
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10/11).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and IT hardware components.
  • Must be a South African citizen between the ages of 18-35.
  • Reside in or around KwaZulu-Natal.
  • Not currently employed or part of another internship/learnership program.
  • Must have not previously done an internship prior (SETA/ Government)
